LIMITED EDITION PRINTS

Snow covered mountain peaks appear out of the cloudsLimited editions are prints produced in restricted numbers in order to preserve the exclusivity of the piece. Commonly limited editions range in size between 3 and 150. Each edition is strictly limited to the number of prints shown and this will never be increased. Each print is individually numbered and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity that is signed by both the artist and Silverburn Gallery. We exclusively publish and sell limited edition photographic and digital fine art giclée prints from a range of talented and inspiring artists. Limited edition works of art are attractive to collectors due to the possibility of their value increasing over time. They also appeal to individuals, who are attracted not only by the stunning quality of the piece, but also by the fact that they are highly unlikely to see the print on the walls of their friends and relatives homes. Silverburn Gallery sell only through this website and at specially selected art exhibitions and shows. You will not see these images on the high street.

PRODUCT SPECIFICATION

All work produced by Silverburn Gallery adheres to the ethical standards laid down by the Fine Art Trade Guild. These standards are designed to protect the interests of consumers and maintain confidence in the art and framing industry. The materials and equipment used in our production process are sourced from established, respected manufacturers, all of whom have a strong reputation for the quality of their products. An overview of our minimum standards and the key elements of our production processes and materials used can be found below:

1. Giclée prints

Raunchy, sexy, modern art portraying a close up detailed shot of womans lipsFine art photography and digital prints are offered for sale in small limited editions. The exact size of the edition is listed alongside each print. Small limited editions of this type can add to the potential future value of the piece due to its rarity, particularly once the edition has sold out. All prints are individually numbered. They are accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity which is numbered, dated, signed by both the publisher and the photographer and wax stamped with the Silverburn Gallery seal.  They are produced as giclée prints on Hahnemuhle fine art papers. A set of cotton gloves is supplied with all unframed prints to reduce the risk of marking the print during handling prior to framing.

2. Conservation level framing

Early morning seascape with rocks and surfSilverburn Gallery offer a bespoke Conservation level framing service (available for deliveries to the United Kingdom mainland only). This meets or exceeds the Fine Art Trade Guild standards and will ensure that your artwork is protected from physical damage, airborne pollutants, and acids generated by standard framing materials. You will be able to enjoy your artwork over an extended period without deterioration ensuring that the value of your collectable artwork is maintained. You can select from a choice of 30 separate mouldings in a variety of colours, widths and styles to suit most tastes. Mountboards are currently available in a range of 22 colours in our standard 1400micron thickness. If you require a moulding or mountboard not currently displayed on our website then please contact us for advice regarding availability and cost of your preferred choice

3. Glazing materials

Due to the risk of glass breakage during transit all of our framed artwork is supplied with acrylic, shatter resistant, 2mm clear glazing as standard. This is a stronger and lighter material than glass. An ultra violet (UV) stabiliser in the acrylic absorbs many of the damaging UV wavelengths in both natural and artificial light and also provides excellent visibility. It can be prone to a build up of static charge that can attract dust. To help counteract this all of our framed artwork is supplied with an anti-static cloth which is designed to dissipate static and absorb and remove dust particles with minimum effort.

4. Sealed Package Framing

The appearance of thunder flies and other tiny insects beneath the glazing, often many months or even years after purchase, is an annoying and unsightly problem. Framed artwork from Silverburn Gallery is supplied as a fully sealed package, which prevents this tiresome situation from occurring. This service is provided free of charge.

5. Finished size of product

Skyline view of Prague at nightThe size given in the product description is for the print only. The dimensions are approximate and are expressed to the nearest 0.1cm (and the nearest half inch in imperial measurements). They do not include an allowance for either the mount or frame. The overall dimensions of a framed piece of work will inevitably be larger. Frame widths are shown on the framing page. Single mounts are cut to provide a standard border on each side of approximately:

51mm (2") on prints up to 457 x 305mm (18" x 12")

76mm (3") on prints up to 610 x 406mm (24" x 16")

101mm (4") for larger prints.

CARING FOR YOUR PURCHASE

Every care has been taken in the preparation of your product and the Conservation level materials and techniques used should ensure that your product can be enjoyed for many years. However, there are a number of practical suggestions we would make that will help to extend the lifetime and sustain the quality of, your product.

  • Avoid direct sunlight. Try not to hang pictures directly opposite large windows as sunlight can fade colours and discolour paper.
  • Excessive heat will accelerate deterioration, so we would advise you not to hang pictures directly above radiators.
  • Beware of damp. This can cause prints to ripple and can encourage fungal growth. It is generally advisable not to hang valuable art in kitchens or bathrooms.
  • Dust the frame and the acrylic glazing regularly using the anti-static cloth provided. Avoid the use of cleaning fluids wherever possible.
