LIMITED EDITION PRINTS

Sunset on the Pacific from a fishing boatWhilst a number of high street retailers and web-based enterprises have expanded their sales in a variety of mass produced art forms, the demand for limited edition art has increased at an even greater rate. Purchasers seeking originality now actively seek out limited edition work rather than follow the mass market. Limited edition fine art has an element of exclusivity that appeals to the discerning buyer. It is now widely accepted that these pieces will attract far higher prices than the open edition prints that dominate the high street. This is particularly so where the edition size is 50 or fewer worldwide.

At Silverburn Gallery we exclusively produce limited edition photography and digital art. This enables us to focus our activities in order to help identify new emerging talent in this field, closely monitor the latest consumer trends and remain at the leading edge of this vibrant art form. All of our prints offer the buyer the element of exclusivity they crave and are for sale only in small limited editions. Our photographic art covers a broad spectrum, catering for a wide variety of tastes. Whether it be the stunning world of nature, awe inspiring wildlife, dynamic action sports, the urban landscape, people and portraiture, macro or abstract art, you will find it all in our stunning portfolios. Once an edition is sold out, no further copies will be printed.

The last decade has seen an enormous growth in the popularity of photographic art and it has become increasingly collectable. This art form is now seen regularly at prestigious auction houses in London, New York and Paris. At Sotheby's, London in 2007 the work 99 Cent 11 Diptychon (2001), by Andreas Gursky fetched a world record price of $3,346,456. Several other pieces have fetched in excess of $1 million at public auction and at Silverburn Gallery we strongly believe that this increased level of interest will be sustained in coming years.

DIGITAL ART

Digital artThroughout history art has evolved, with new techniques introduced and the conventional views of the masses challenged by fresh, vibrant thinking. Digital art, once dismissed as lacking in artistic integrity, has now become entrenched in the mainstream of modern art. The amazing creativity witnessed in this sphere has forced this change in thinking and Silverburn Gallery is now committed to supporting the finest examples of this creative process. We believe that digital art will continue to increase in importance in the next decade and beyond.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Colourful beach hutsAt Silverburn Gallery we are committed to minimising and, where possible, further reducing the environmental impact of our business. We employ best practice to minimise waste, not only in our production processes but also in our administrative and dispatch departments. Wherever practical we source our materials from companies with similar concern for environmental issues to our own. By doing so we are able to offer our support to businesses who are proactive in this area which is of concern to us all. Many of the materials used in print production, framing and packaging are fully recyclable. For example over 85% of our mouldings are made from wood and our suppliers are committed to sourcing their raw material from sustainable forests. Our acrylic glazing is fully recyclable; so too is the bubble wrap used to protect your framed products in transit and also the outer corrugated packaging. Perhaps most importantly of all, we produce products that are built to last.
